We are writing this blog for fun and to inform folks that there are a lot of options for hanging out in VancouverÂ in addition toÂ the usual obvious choices.Â

We will write about our experiences as we see them.Â But, we know that while we may love a certain adventure, others may not, and vice versa.Â We will strive to be fair and objective but, in the end, we will simply state our opinion.Â

Suggestion: Spring/Summer date – picnic in Fraserview Cemetary… sounds ghoulish but it’s beautiful, amazing history as shared through headstones (just walk around and read) and no problem with the police confiscating your wine… cuz they’re busy at the beach. Try it.

  Rogue! That is such a great suggestion! And I don’t feel it is ghoulish at all! Pete and I did a walk through of a really old cemetary in Victoria when we first started dating. It was very interesting and quite touching. We will check it out for sure.

Try British Ex Serviceman’s Club at 1143 Kingsway, for free pool, game of darts and great jukebox. Or come out to an event Variety Club dart tournament Feb 13th or Boscar Night on 26th. Glitz – Glamour – Limos – Gold Statuettes. Hit the thrift shops for your ballgowns and be prepared for a good laugh

  Ooooo, Fern. That is brilliant! We had it on our list to go to the Legion. I just did some research on the British Ex Serviceman’s Club on your recommendation. It looks fun….very cheap beer too! Do you need a membership or can you just drop by for the free pool? What if you are Swedish – can you still get in? (thanks for the tip…you rock!) Maggie 🙂

UBC has a theatre in the SUB which shows current movies for $5.00. The movies change each week and they show 2 per night. Check their website for details!
