This has been my favourite date so far.\u00c2\u00a0 Now that winter is here, it means that we can play in the snow on our local mountains.\u00c2\u00a0 I must admit \u00e2\u20ac\u201c while Pete is super fit, I am not very athletic.\u00c2\u00a0 I have always been scared of skiing and snowboarding, because I am clumsy.\u00c2\u00a0 The chances of me requiring snow patrol assistance for such activities is guaranteed 100%…..BUT, snowshoeing is different.\u00c2\u00a0 If you can walk, you can snowshoe.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

Today, we went snowshoeing for the first time at Cypress.\u00c2\u00a0 The conditions were perfect.\u00c2\u00a0 During the day, you can go unescorted on the trails.\u00c2\u00a0 The snowshoe paths are well marked.\u00c2\u00a0 (but you should remember that parts of the trails intersect with the cross country skiers so you need to be careful crossing their routes!).\u00c2\u00a0 A snowshoe day pass costs $10 or you can rent snowshoes with pass for about $25\u00c2\u00a0 We took the easy trail since we hadn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t<\/p>\n

Hollyburn Lodge: A great place for hot chocolate!<\/p><\/div>\n

been on the mountain before and it was very easy.\u00c2\u00a0 At a certain point, we ventured onto the advanced trail for a challenge. \u00c2\u00a0For most of the time, we were alone walking in a beautiful winter wonderland.\u00c2\u00a0 It was very peaceful and fun.\u00c2\u00a0 I guess that is what happens when you showshoe midweek.\u00c2\u00a0 At about the half way point of our walk, we found Hollyburn Lodge which offered a chance to take a break, grab a snack and have some hot chocolate.\u00c2\u00a0 (there is also a warming hut further up the mountain).\u00c2\u00a0 If you want an evening walk in the snow, Cypress also offers guided evening trail tours\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6and fondue tours as well.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
